THE ALCHEMY SHELF

Project ID: AS-001 | Class: Miniature Diorama

Project Specifications
Scale: 1:6
Materials: Red Oak, Balsa, Resin, Leather, Copy Paper, Glass, Flocking
Description: This project started as a quick evening attempt to make a replica of a medieval shelf from the game Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The shelf was modelled in CAD, cut out on the CNC from 1/8" thick red oak and finally assembled and cleaned up with plenty of hand sanding. The next morning it already really bothersome having this empty shelf sitting around, so the idea to fill it with alchemy supplies came to life. The books were made in the typical doll house style by binding regular printer paper around leather. We used the laser cutter to add the titles to the visible books. One title references a 1700s cookbook by Hannah Glasse, while the other is a reference to one of our favorite memes "Identifying Wood." We were able to source the various glass bits from local craft stores.
