A sculpted head!

This is a continuation of the work to build a cover for our upcoming zine. It seems small, but feels like a pretty big personal achievement. I have gotten fairly decent at traditional CAD over the years. Modelling practical parts, or even hard surface things for dioramas is very straight forward for me now. Doing anything organic, especially actually sculpting has always been a huge blocker however. With a few tutorials and a bit of practice, I somehow managed to claw my way through sculpting this head in blender. I don't think he holds up in closeup, but printed at 1:6 scale, you can't see all the janky polygons in the sculpt anymore. Next step will be getting this guy dressed! |
